Maple Syrup

From Mother.   (I think.)

4 cups sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 cups water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon maple flavoring

Combine sugar and water. Stir until dissolved. Bring it to a boil. Cover then boil gently for ten minutes. Remove from heat. Cool slightly and then add vanilla and maple flavor. Stir only until mixed. Makes about 1 quart.
