Sift together 2 cups flour and 2 cups sugar.
In heavy saucepan, bring to a boil:
1 stick butter
1 cup water
4 tablespoons cocoa.
Stir that into the flour mixture while still hot. Or the dry ingredients into the pan.
Add:
1/2 cup butter milk (or vinegar milk which is 1 teaspoon vinegar to 1/2 cup milk)
2 eggs
2 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla.
Beat well. Pour into lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 18-20 minutes.
FROSTING
Bring to boil:

4 tablespoons cocoa
6 tablespoons milk
Add 1 pound powdered sugar and beat in 1 tsp vanilla and nuts.
Spread on cake while still hot. (The icing...not the cake) If you're allergic to nuts, consider them optional.
