Buttery Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 and 1/2 cup butter - softened
1 and 1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 and 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 eggs
4 cups all purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 24 ounce package of chocolate chips


Heat oven to 350. Mix butter, sugars, vanilla and eggs in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough about two inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool.

(I have always had better luck baking cookies at 325 rather than 350.)
